Helen J. Malby died at the age of 82 on Feb. 23, 2014.Helen was born Jan. 12, 1932 in Lind, WA to Henry and Marie Ida (Fitz) Orman.She graduated from Lind Washington High School.Helen married Wesley Malby June 8, 1952 in Lind, WA. They moved to Oregon in 1959 and eventually made their home in the Salem area. Helen retired from the State of Oregon in 1992.Helen was a long time charter member of Willamette Rhododendron Chapter of Salem, Oregon and long time Philatelic stamp collector, She enjoyed gardening and bird and squirrel watching.Wes passed in April of 1996. After Wes's death, Helen and her high school sweetheart, Richard (Dick) Harper of Connell, WA became best friends. He passed in March of 2011.Survivors are daughter, Kathy Malby-Schmuck of Gresham, OR; son, Dana Malby (Tammy) of Salem, OR and two grandchildren Sarah Brod (Peter) of Salem and AndrewMalby of Corvallis.
