Hazel's free spirited life began in Hot Springs, South Dakota on July 30, 1937 to Amelia (Janke) and Roderick Mesecar.

On June 25th, 1966 in Portland, Oregon she married Kenton Shade. The next 35 years were filled with love and a growing family.

Hazel faithfully attended the Lutheran Church and was members with the Eagles and American Legion.

Preceding her in death was her loving husband, Kenton Shade; parents; and brother, Roderick Mesecar Jr. She will be watching over her children, Mick Estorja, Patrick Christian, Kenton Shade Jr, Lori Dobbs and Steve Cote; 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Simon Cornwell Colonial Chapel.
