George Jr Custer Born May 1st 1927 passed away the evening of Sept 29th 2017 peacefully in his room at the French Prairie nursing home. George is survived by 2 younger siblings - Tim Custer currently residing in Butte Montana, Rose Oakley of Salem OR, and his daughter Linda Custer with 2 grandsons Channing and Bob Thurman. George was born in Hollywood CA and raised in Sisters OR along with his 6 brothers and 5 sisters. He married Lee Jacquelyn Lund, settled down in Klamath Falls OR and then eventually moved to Woodburn OR in 1973. Jackie passed away in 2011. They were married 60 yrs. George was a consummate gentleman, always kind to strangers and willing to give the shirt of his back to help others in need. He will be greatly missed by his family, the staff who cared for him the last 23 months at the French Prairie Care facility and many others that interacted with him in the Hubbard neighborhood he lived out his final years with his grandsons family.
