Gary William Johnson7/31/1940 - 4/1/2014Our beloved Dad, Grandpa, and good Friend passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Portland Oregon but lived most of his life in Bend and Idaho before moving to Waldport in 2012. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing, camping, crabbing, and playing the slot machines at the casinos on the Oregon coast. He worked as a plumber before retiring, employed by Peninsula Plumbing in Portland before starting his own business - Garyâ??s Plumbing in Bend and later in Weiser and then in New Meadows, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy, son Jeff, brother Ray, and his Brittany Spaniel Mindy. He is survived by his daughter Lisa K. Johnson and granddaughter Sam of Wilsonville, niece Melody R. Johnson-Ostergren of Portland, and good friends Glen and Kerri Beal, Richard and Pam Galla, and his other Brittany Spaniel Sadie; all of Council, Idaho. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date at the Moose Lodge in Waldport. Remembrances may be made to the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute.
