Garry Pearce - 82, Woodburn, Oregon, passed away with his family by his side on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, in Salem, Oregon. Garry was born in Washington State in 1943, to Tom and June Pearce who along with brothers Gale and Kent, proceeded him in death.
Garry is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Frances Pearce and his brother Curtis Pearce of Washington along with Garry's sons Dustin, Michael and Steve. He is also survived by several grandchildren, one great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
Garry proudly served in the US Army in Europe in the 1960's. Following his return home, he began a career in California as an owner-operator truck driver that took him across all 48 states. This fostered many lifelong friendships with people throughout the United States and Canada.
For several years in the 1980's, Garry owned and operated the Courtesy Greyhound Package Express in Portland, Oregon. Following that, he returned to the road delivering nursery plants from the Willamette Valley to California and returned with fresh produce to the Northwest. Garry eventually got off the road and worked in logistics for a large Portland food distributer until his retirement.
In retirement, Garry's passion was his family and classic cars. He enjoyed attending many Northwest car shows and belonging to several car clubs.
Garry was known for and loved by all for his sense of humor and quick wit. Garry's lasting contribution, beyond his children and family, is that he will be remembered for his generosity, where he took many opportunities to help someone in need.
Local services are scheduled for Friday, January 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. and details can be obtained by contacting Simon–Cornwell Funeral Home in Woodburn, Oregon. Ultimately, Garry will be interned at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon with military honors.
