It is with great sadness that the family of Esther Odilia Messer announces her passing on April 15, 2018 at the age of 88 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph and son Daniel. She is survived by her children Loretta (Chris) Lang and Leila (Fred) Frey, Mt. Angel, OR, Joel Messer and Thomas Messer, Gervais, OR, James (Hong) Messer, Tacoma, WA, Frederick Messer and Valerie (Jerry) Bennett, St. Paul, OR, Carol (Jim) Yoder and Annette Thomas, Canby, OR, Mary (Brian) Weygandt, Butler, PA and Patrick (Kathryn) Messer, Keizer, OR. She will be dearly missed by her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters and one brother.

As a young teenager her family moved from Pierz, MN to Mt. Angel, OR. She was married to Joseph H. Messer on June 9, 1948 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mt. Angel, OR. She lived her entire married life on the farm in Gervais, OR that her husband, Joseph was raised on. She loved to garden and bake for her family and her church.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gervais, OR, the Catholic Daughter's Association and Sacred Heart Altar Society.

Funeral services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gervais, OR at 11 am with the Rosary preceding the funeral service at 10:30 am.
