Elsie Mae Simon was born to Walter and Doreen Satterlee on May 16, 1921 in Coutts, Alberta, Canada. The family moved to Lone Pine outside Silverton when Elsie was 12. She attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Mt. Angel where she met Lynn Simon. They were married November 19, 1942 and farmed outside Woodburn. Elsie is survived by son Gary (Diane) Simon, daughter Linda (Hank) Burdick and sister Dorothy (Wraa) Rose, six grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Lynn Simon and brother Richard Satterlee.
A funeral service will be held at Hope Lutheran Church in Woodburn on Friday May 19 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hope Lutheran Church.
