Elizabeth
Loscutoff
September 4, 1927 – April 21, 2026
Elizabeth Pavlova Axionoff Loscutoff was born in the Kavkaz (Caucus Mountain) region of Russia in September 1926 to Paul and Anastasia Axionoff. When she was 6 years old, her family left the Soviet Union on foot. They traveled with a group of people anxious to escape Communist persecution and made the arduous journey to Persia (Iran) finally settling in Tehran. There her family grew to include siblings Walter, Ludmilla, Alex and Olga.
The family obtained VISAs to immigrate to the United States in 1949 and settled in San Francisco. There, Elizabeth met and married Nick Loscutoff, with whom she shared 4 children, Nicholas, Irene, Fred and Dena.
In 1972 Elizabeth left San Francisco with her 4 children and the family dog. They settled in the Woodburn area where other close relatives resided. Elizabeth found employment cleaning homes and businesses, as an assistant at a Chiropractic clinic and as a caregiver to the elderly. She was often called on as an interpreter to help other Russian speakers with medical and legal needs.
Elizabeth was a devout Christian. It was the cornerstone of her life. She joined with other Russian Christians in the founding of the Russian Gospel Church outside of Hubbard in 1975. Elizabeth also became involved in the sponsorship of Russian Christian families when they were able to immigrate to the United States, welcoming them into her home to stay while they were establishing themselves in Oregon.
Elizabeth was a very strong, energetic woman who filled her life with her commitment to the Lord, her family and her desire to help others. She was also a passionate gardener, she grew beautiful roses, flowers, fruits and vegetables. Spring through fall you could always find fresh bouquets of flowers that she’d grown on her dining table. Elizabeth used her knowledge of horticulture to become a berry farmer on a small acreage she obtained. Elizabeth was never afraid to work hard, and to share her thoughts and opinions.
Among her many talents, Elizabeth was also an excellent seamstress. While still in Iran, she was hired by the royal family to sew garments for them. She could sew garments without a template. Many of the beautiful outfits Elizabeth wore she had sewn herself.
As the end of her life approached, Elizabeth asked the Lord to find her a companion and caregiver. In 2018, her prayer was answered when Olimpiada Guillory came to live with her. Olimpiada brought happiness and peace into her life until it was her time to be with the Lord.
Elizabeth is survived by her children Irene Muraviov (Alex), Fred Loscutoff (Darcy) and Dena Marthaler (Marty). She was preceded in death by her son Nicholas Loscutoff. Elizabeth also was blessed with 8 grandchildren, Fred Muraviov, Justin Muraviov, Katelin Chernishoff, Alexa Loscutoff, Andrew Loscutoff, Lisa Loscutoff, Colby Warzecha, Konnor Warzecha and 4 great grandchildren.
