Edgar James Vandehey died at the age of 82 on Jan. 16, 2013 at a local hospital.Edgar was born Nov. 2, 1930 at St. Paul, Oregon to Julius and Catherine (VanDyke) Vandehey. Edgar married Patsy Ruth Shook August 25, 1951 at Woodburn, Oregon.He was a Logger/ Faller by Trade.Edgar served in the National Guard and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.He ushered at St Luke Catholic Church and his hobbies included, to name a few, Woodworking, Gardening and the Great Outdoors.Edgar is survived by his spouse Patsy of Woodburn; children Katherine Daiker of Beaver creek, OR, Dee Shrock of Woodburn, OR, Pamela Zollner of Woodburn, OR, Debra Pettit of Oregon City, OR and Edgar Vandehey II of Pacifica,CA, 1 brother James Vandehey of Salem, OR, sisters; Eleanor Hopfer of Salem, OR and Connie Goins of Woodburn, OR, 10 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren.Rosary will be held Sun. Jan. 20, 2013 at 7;00 PM at Cornwell Colonial Chapel.Funeral Mass will be held Mon. Jan 21, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. Luke Catholic Church.Rite of Committal to follow at St. Luke Catholic Cemetery.Arrangements by Cornwell Colonial
