A funeral service for David Garvin will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 18, 2023 at Simon Cornwell Colonial Chapel in Woodburn OR. Private Interment at Belle Passi Cemetery, Woodburn OR.

David Allen Garvin was born April 21, 1939 to Lyle and Marjorie (Judkins) Garvin of Alexandria, MN. He was baptized at the Villard United Methodist Church. He was a 1957 graduate of Redwood Falls High School. He married the love of his life, Dianne Hoffrogge, on June 18, 1960. Together they had four daughters, Teresa, Marlene, Pamela, Paula and one son Randy. They made their home in Redwood Falls MN. In 1964 they moved to Oregon where he became a Welder by trade until he retired in 2001. They resided in Portland OR, Scappoose OR and Canby OR. David was a family man and loved spending time with them. He enjoyed the outdoors and liked to hunt, camp and take long walks in the forest.

David passed peacefully on November 26, 2023 at the age of 84.

He is survived by his wife Dianne, his daughters Marlene (Dean) Terry of Gardner KS, Pamela (Jerry) Petty of Molalla OR, Paula (Bill) Lane of Canby OR, Randy (Audra) Garvin of Salem OR; grandchildren, Michael (Bobbi Jo) Terry, Brian (Nicci Bowman) Terry, Derek (Ashly) Petty, Laura (James) Reed and Sierra Haglund; siblings Robert Garvin, Susan (Dean) Glaspey, Roger (Suzie) McTavish; son-in-law John Slyter; 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Teresa Slyter; one brother; one brother-in-law and two sister-in-law.
