Conwin (Connie) McNair

Conwin Baker McNair passed away on January 4, 2023 at his home in Woodburn, Oregon. He was born April 17, 1922, in Waxahatchie, Texas, the only child of Allan and Georgia (Winn) McNair. He grew up in Montebello, California. He served in the Navy during World War II, and served in the Merchant Marine. He graduated from the University of California Los Angeles in 1950. He worked as an agricultural engineer, designing feed mills for cattle. He married Helen Coleman Criswell in 1955. The couple lived in La Puente, Walnut, and Visalia, California, before moving to Woodburn Oregon in 1991.
Connie enjoyed playing tennis and fly fishing. His favorite fishing hole was on the Umpqua River in Oregon. He also enjoyed playing bridge both in California and more recently in Woodburn, Oregon.
His wife predeceased him in 2016. Survivors include his daughters, Lisa Blackburn of Newberg, Oregon; Janet Zancanella of Woodburn, Oregon; and Beverly McNair of Woodburn, Oregon; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
