Clara Pavlicek Ficek went to be with the Lord on October 24, 2022. She was 97 years old. She moved to Woodburn in 1920's with her family from North Dakota. She grew up and lived in Woodburn, marrying the love of her life, Joe D. Ficek. They had three boys, Randy, Russ, and Jerry. She spent most of her life as a housewife and mother. She did have a plethora of part time jobs ……..cannery work, waitressing, berry picking with the boys, cafeteria cook, xmas tree farm, potato plant, tuna cannery, and finally a cook for a small factory that produced latch hook kits. Her father was wheelchair bound, so as a child, she had to help at home with her two younger brothers while her mom worked at the cannery. Life was not easy as this time was the Great Depression.

She leaves behind Randy (Maureen), Russ (Judy), and Jerry (Peggy) as well as 12 grandchildren, 33 great grands, and 1 great-great grand. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Joe, parents Agnes and Anton Pavlicek, and her brothers…..Tony (Anna Marie), Ed (Lorraine), and Swede (Betty).

Services will be held on November 4th, at 11 am at St Lukes Churh, 417 Harrison St., Woodburn, reception to follow in Rubis Hall. Interment will be at Willamette National Cemetery on November 9, at 2 pm.
