Obituary

Cheryl Iline (Murphy) LeDoux, 66, passed from her battle with pancreatic cancer into an eternity with Jesus on Thursday, August 11, 2022, in Bend, Oregon. She spent her final hours surrounded by loved ones, deeply at peace about beginning her next adventure.

Cheryl was born on June 1, 1956, to Edward and Edna Murphy, in Woodburn, OR, where she grew up. She attended St. Luke's Grade School, Woodburn High School and Oregon State University.

Cheryl and her husband George LeDoux were married April 25, 1980 at St. Luke's Catholic Church and spent 42 years building a life, family, and community together. They raised their children, Janine (LeDoux) Dale and George LeDoux Jr., in Tualatin, Oregon, where they lived for almost 40 years before retiring to Bend, OR, in 2021. Seven grandchildren blessed a lifetime spent sowing and nourishing their own shared earth, and they cherished their role as grandparents.

Cheryl founded a style consulting business, The Difference, in Lake Oswego, OR, and spent over 30 years helping others express their most authentic self to the world. Style consulting was a doorway to personal growth at The Difference, and her store became a place of shared community where clients and employees alike marked many of their lives' most significant seasons. Cheryl will be remembered for a signature style as a businesswoman of honesty, intimacy, and deep integrity.

A cowgirl at heart, Cheryl happily traded heels for riding boots in her personal time. She devoted over 20 years to the project of training her horses in the Vaquero tradition, spending several weeks out of every year off the grid and on the trail. Cheryl carried lessons from the saddle back to her roles in business and life, inspiring others with a gift for finding the wisdom in every experience. She faced life's challenges head-on with the grit of a true cowgirl, a compassionate heart, and an unshakable faith in God's plan.

Those blessed to know Cheryl celebrate her legacy of family, friendship, community, grace, fierce determination, humility, and generous love.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, Edward J. Murphy and her mother Edna Loretta Murphy. She is survived by her husband, George; daughter, Janine, son, George; stepson Chris; 7 grandchildren; and siblings, Bill and Mike Murphy of St. Paul, Oregon.

Cheryl's funeral will be held at 10:00 AM at St. Paul Catholic Church, 20217 Christie St., St. Paul, OR, 97137. A reception to honor and celebrate her life will follow in the Bull Pen at the St. Paul Rodeo Grounds, Malo Ave. NE, St. Paul, OR, 97137.
