Carol K. Hammond obituary.
It is with a heavy heart to announce the passing of Carol Kathleen Hammond. Born December 4th 1948 in Columbus Nebraska, to parents Arlyn and Doris Staack. Carol attended high school
in Grand Island, NE at Northwest High School and graduated in 1966. She attended Kearney State College graduating with a B.S in general studies. From there she attended Hastings Nebraska School of Nursing graduating in 1974 and was a registered nurse for 34 years. Carol married Kenneth W. Hammond in 1978 to which a daughter Holly Joanna Hammond was born
in 1984 in Arcadia, CA. Relocating to Woodburn Oregon with Holly in 1993 and residing there until her passing at Silverton Hospital February 21st 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents Aryln and Doris. She is survived by her daughter Holly, grandchild Raden Hernandez,
her brother Robert Staack and family. Carol and the love of her life Wayne Zelinka frequently volunteered at Meals on Wheels in Woodburn where they developed close loving relationships with other volunteers and members in the community. Carol and Wayne opened their arms with love to anyone who was in need of help; she was a friend to confide in and a mother figure to
those who needed one. She put much joy into making memory scrapbooks for her family and friends. Carol loved her cats, her books, the research she put into her family genealogy, history, and the Nebraska Cornhuskers. She will be sincerely missed by all who loved her and will never
be forgotten. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26.
