Carmen V. Perez 70, passed away on Saturday, August 30,2014 in her home in Woodburn, Oregon. She was born in Asherton, Texas to Juan Villarreal & Paula Longoria.
Carmen grew up in Asherton, Texas and in St. Paul, Oregon. She graduated from Asherton High School in 1962. She was awarded with the honor of Salutatorian of her class.Carmen moved with her parents to Woodburn, Oregon. She worked at several local area businesses in town, including Ben Franklin, Salud Medical Clinic and then finally retired from Chemeketa Community College as an advising specialist.
Carmen enjoyed spending time with family and friends; attending her granddaughter's dance recitals and school events; on occasion, going to the casino; gardening; anyone who knew Carmen, will forever remember her infectious smile.
Carmen is survived by her only daughter, Noelia Perez-Cortez of Woodburn, Oregon; and her sister, Minerva (Salinas) Aguirre of Woodburn, Oregon; Brother, Juan Villarreal of Salem, Oregon ; her two granddaughter's, Arianna & Alyssa Perez-Cortes and several nieces and knephews and other relatives.
Rosary will be held at 10:00 AM prior to the funeral service at the church.
A funeral service will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 485 7th Street in Gervais,Oregon on Friday, at 11:00 AM. Burial will be a private ceremony for the immediate family only.A reception will be held for family and friends at Sacred Heart gymnasium immediately following the burial ceremony.
