Betty Carol Rose 

January 11, 1935 – August 26, 2026

Betty Carol Rose, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, teacher, artist, poet, and faithful servant of God, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2026, at the age of 91.

Born on January 11, 1935, in Barron, Wisconsin, to Frederick and Johanna Hall, Betty moved with her family to Oregon in 1942. She graduated from Gervais High School in 1953 and earned her degree from Oregon State University in 1958. She taught health, biology, and physical education at Woodburn High School before dedicating much of her life to caring for her family and supporting the Rose family farm and businesses.

Betty was the quiet matriarch behind the Rose family businesses, managing accounting and payroll while helping build the foundation of a thriving family enterprise. She was known for her servant's heart, unwavering faith, generosity, and ability to make others feel cared for and welcomed.

A gifted artist and writer, Betty created more than 100 poems and painted over 35 large pastel portraits that remain treasured by her family. She enjoyed gardening, canning, traveling, Bible study, and sharing her talents with others. Whether teaching family recipes, helping grandchildren with life lessons, or offering encouragement through her poetry, Betty touched countless lives with her creativity, wisdom, and love.

Family was Betty's greatest joy. She delighted in spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, taking them on adventures, sharing stories, and creating traditions that will continue for generations.

Betty is survived by her brother, Norman Hall, and sister, Shirley Clark; many nieces and nephews; daughter Crystal Rose-Fricker and son-in-law Mark Fricker; grandson Austin Fricker and wife Makaela, and their children Carson and Myla; granddaughter McKayla Smucker and husband Chris Smucker, and their son Eason; daughter Cara Rose-Tuggle and son-in-law Scott Tuggle; son Ed Rose and daughter-in-law Tami Rose; grandson Brandon Rose and wife Jordyn, and their daughter Hadley; granddaughter Kahleia Rose-Mottern and husband Josh Mottern, and their son Stetson.

Betty will be remembered for her faith, kindness, creativity, forgiveness, and the enduring example of love she set for her family and all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on September 27, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Vanderbeck Park.
