Vera Bertie June Beyer was born to Albert and Ester Beyer in Marion, KansasShe married Quentin Hewson Dec. 26, 1936 in Kansas and made their home in Nebraska before moving to Idaho in 1941. Then on to Salem Oregon in 1942. After World War II they moved to Alsea in 1946 and from there to Portland in 1960, where they lived for several years before moving to Aurora. She was a home maker, and drove bus for Catlin Gable School. She enjoyed many years of camping and fishing with family and friends.Surviving family members are sons Jack (Mary) of Portland, Jim (Carol) of San Antonio, Dennie (Lorna) of Philomath, daughter Vickie Smith (Tom) of Woodburn, brother Albert Jr. of Pleasanton, CA and sister- in- law Onnie Beyer of Pacific City and 17 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Quentin A. Hewson, daughter Viola Bedell, son-in-law Ivan Bedell, grandson Ronnie Bedell, brother Duane Beyer, sister Alsea Ziegler.
