Barbara (Jodie) Joann Jones passed away Friday evening, November 17th, 2023 at the Willamette Valley Medical Center in McMinnville, Oregon at the age of 71. Although her name is Barbara (after her mother), she has been known as Jodie to her family and friends since her days in high school.

Jodie was born on June 2nd, 1952 in Richmond, California. She was the second of three children that were born to John and Barbara Bilyeu. After her father received a medical retirement from the California Highway Patrol in the early 1960's, the family moved to a farm near Mt. Angel. Several years later, they moved to Woodburn where Jodie attended Woodburn High School. She graduated in 1970.

Jodie married Sam Jones and the couple had two children, Kimmie and John Paul. Jodie attended Southern Oregon University where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing in 1993. She worked as a Registered Nurse at the Veteran's Hospital in Portland.

Jodie was a Christian who loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and was baptized in Fresno, California. She also loved her family very much.

Jodie is survived by her daughter, Kimmie (Robert) Morrison of Keizer, OR; son John Paul (Larissa) Jones of Apache Junction, AZ; half-sister Patty (Mike) Raykovich of Fayetteville, TN, brother John (Deb) Bilyeu of Pulaski, TN; brother Rick (Linda) Bilyeu of Lynnville, TN; and grandchildren: Maddison Wiese, Conner (Teylor) Wiese, Elijah Troy Jones, Sarah Grace Jones, Isaac (Jodi) John Jones, Benjamin Whitley Jones, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and an unborn great granddaughter expected early next year from Teylor and Conner Wiese.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 6th, 2024 at 3:00 PM at New Harvest Church, 4290 Portland Road, Salem, Oregon with Pastor Rick Bilyeu officiating.
