Barbara Elaine "Barbie" Dinsmore (née Barnes), age 72, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025, in Woodburn, Oregon surrounded by family. Born on January 21, 1953, to Jack and Rosina Barnes in Salem, Oregon, Barbara lived a life filled with creativity, dedication, and love.
Barbara was the beloved wife of Richard Dinsmore with whom she shared 53 years of love and partnership. She was a devoted mother to her four children: James Dinsmore (Jessica), Rachel Howard (Joshua), Erin Quill (Cullen), and Megan Nhoung (Setha). Barbara, forever known lovingly as Nanny, is also succeeded by 13 grandchildren, all of whom brought her endless joy and memories. Barbara is remembered with love by her sister Margie Campbell. Her family was the heart of her world and she poured her energy and affection into every role she held within it.
Those who knew Barbara knew her as a true artist at heart. Her passion for art knew no bounds-if she set her sights on a craft, she would not only learn it, but master it. From building intricate dollhouses, to breathing life into old furniture, to the delicate stitches of her needlework and quilting, to the vibrant beauty of her flower arrangements, Barbara's hands were always busy creating something beautiful. Her home and the lives of those around her are enriched by her boundless creativity and her determination to bring beauty into the everyday.
Barbara Elaine Dinsmore's legacy lives on in the art she created, the family she cherished, and the countless lives she brightened with her warmth and talent. She found joy in serving others, nurturing her family, and walking closely with the Lord. Those who knew her will remember her gentle spirit, her laughter, and her unwavering trust in God's promises.
A Celebration of Life will be held on October 25, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Mennonite Church in Hubbard, Oregon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory.
