Arthur Armas Janos was born on December 31st, 1975 to Martha and Arthur Janos in Palm Springs, California. He was the oldest of three children living in the greater Coachella Valley. Arthur graduated from Banning High School in Banning, California in 1993. It was through a Regional Occupations Program in High School that Arthur began his life-long career of banking. Arthur was ordained as a minister in 1997. He was then married on May 2, 1998 to Dalila Rodriguez of Beaumont, California. Together they had two children, Emily and Benjamin.
Both Arthur and Dalila dedicated their lives to the ministry and were called to be pastors of the Apostolic Church in Woodburn, Oregon known as New Hope Apostolic Tabernacle in April of 2009. At the same time Arthur was employed at US Bank in Salem. Shortly thereafter, Arthur was promoted to Branch Manager of the Woodburn and St. Paul branches of U.S. Bank. Arthur was an avid participant in the community. He was a member of the Woodburn Toastmasters and a member of the Chamber of Commerce. In 2013, he was appointed as Secretary of the Oregon District Board with the Apostolic Assembly and faithfully fulfilled his duties. In 2014, he was elected as the President of the Woodburn Chamber of Commerce. He was actively and passionately involved in the community of Woodburn. Arthur was also an active Board Member of Mid-Valley Literacy Center in Keizer where he was highly impactful and instrumental in the promotion of the Center's progress.
The community of Woodburn is mourning the loss of a kind and caring business member, as well as the church he proudly pastored who has suffered the loss of a passionate servant and mentor. He knew the importance of making a lasting impression and connecting with others beyond the norm. He was an excellent father and husband, a wise counselor making sure that others felt special and important.
Arthur went to be with the Lord on February 25, 2015. He is survived by his wife, two children, a brother, Eli Leon and his family from Hesperia, CA and his sister, Martha Estrada and her family from Riverside, CA. Multiple brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. Arthur was deeply loved by all his family and friends. He was a genuine, sincere friend who left a great impact and a positive influence on those who were blessed to know him.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate the life of Arthur Janos at The People's Church in Salem on Tuesday, March 3rd at 6:00pm. Donations may be given at any US Bank location. Please make donation in the name of Arthur Janos.
