Arthur Albert Gray (85), born in Jamestown, North Dakota November 2nd, 1935, went to be with the the Lord March 22, 2021. He was residing with a daughter in Vancouver, Washington at the time of his passing due to heart failure. He was preceded in death by his first wife Marlen Elizabeth Nething and will be laid to rest next to her at the Belle Passi Cemetery in Woodburn, Oregon.
He is survived by his spouse Dornita Gray (Washington), a brother John Gray (Nebraska), and four children; sons Jim Gray (Kansas), Bob Gray (Oregon), and daughters Marla Hagner (Oregon), and Meri Handley (Washington). He had seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a sister, and a daughter JuLynn, who died in infancy, as well his first grandchild, Jesse.
Art built a career as an electrician, starting as an apprentice in Sitka, Alaska, learning the trade in Showlow, Arizona, then working the majority of his life in plywood mills throughout Roseburg, Grants Pass and Albany, Oregon, before forming his own company AMDECO. After retirement, he settled down in the state of Washington and lived many years on property along the river, fulfilling a life-long desire.
Funeral arrangements have been made through Simon-Cornwall Colonial Chapel, in Woodburn Oregon, and graveside services will be held Wednesday March 31st at 2pm.
