Abigail Luella (Miller) Crisman stepped into heaven on Sunday, June 19, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was born February 17, 1921 in Salem, Oregon, the first child of Carl and Ethel (Smith) Miller. In 1925 she was joined by sister Pauline and in 1928 by brother Kenneth. Abbie graduated from Salem High School in 1939 and Pacific College (now George Fox University) in 1943. While at Pacific she caught the eye of Leo Crisman and they were engaged in 1943 and married in 1945. Sons Gordon and Stuart joined the family in 1947 and 1949 respectively.
Abbie and Leo lived in Condon, Molalla, Elkton, and Roseburg as they followed Leo's career in education. His retirement in 1982 allowed them to travel to all 50 states, and they loved road trips and camping in their 5th-wheeler. In 1987 they moved to Woodburn Senior Estates, finally settling into Friendsview Retirement Center in 2003. With each move, Abbie made new friendships to treasure. Jesus has been the cornerstone of her life since age 12 when she invited Him into her heart. She has been an active member of the Friends (Quaker) Church since childhood.
Abigail is survived by her husband Leo and sons Gordon (Cleta) and Stuart (HaeJa). She is also survived by grandchildren Andy Crisman, Katie Gates (Nathan), Karen Roberts (Justin), David Crisman (Christy), Benjamin (fiancée Corey Axt), Mark Crisman, and Jonathan Crisman. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, Jackson and Weston Roberts, and Naiya, Karys, and Giselle Gates. She was much loved and will be dearly missed by all her family and friends.
Contributions in Abbie's name can be made to Twin Rocks Friends Camp.
